Wine Notes:
One-of-a-Kind classic old world sparkling wine of Celebration known as "Romance in a Glass".
This wine is a classic and festive style spumante that originated as the wine of romance centuries ago, and was known to be originally produced for the ruling class. The ruling Kings of the region would often use this delicious and enticing sparkling rose wine to impress the women they were courting as a romantic gesture centuries ago. Today this wine is known for its wonderful dessert qualities. The production regulations require that the grapes are grown on the hills within the borders of the Province of Asti. The wine itself is preferably made in the same area; however vinification is allowed elsewhere in the province. The winery named Abbazia, which means "Abbey", was selected because of its historical proximity to the Benedictine Abbey monastery that dates back to the 12th Century and includes some of the oldest wine producing vineyards in northern Italy. The winery is located in the area of San Stefano Belbo in the Province of Asti, and is known for its wonderful and traditional style sparkling wines throughout the Europe.
Winemaker Notes:
At sight the color is a rich, brilliant rose. The nose has a delicate feel of roses and ripe fruit, which are consistent with Malvasia Bianca. The palate is sweet, aromatic, and supple with a delicious and wonderful finish.
Pairing:
To be enjoyed anytime of the day, with any meal, and great for simply sipping by the glass. An excellent sparkling wine for parties and celebrations.
