Wine Notes:

Deliciously earthy, bold and robust characteristics set this wine apart from its Tuscan counterpart. A full bodied southern sangiovese with a beautiful hint of spice.

From the renowned wine region of Salento adjacent to the Bay of Taranto comes this amazing red wine that has developed over many years to accentuate the intrinsic value of the Puglia region. This southern Sangiovese is bolder and earthier than its Tuscan counterpart and is an excellent example of the quality wines that are produced in Puglia today.

Winemaker Notes:

At sight the color of this Sangiovese is an intense purple red. The nose is full, round, and floral, with fruity expressions of violets and ripe cherry, resulting in a strong apricot aroma. On the palate the taste is bold yet smooth with earthy tones emanating from the barriques and a slightly sweet, fulfilling and persistent finish.

This wine can be enjoyed young, but becomes more refined for 5–6 years.
At its best when opened 30 to 45 minutes or longer prior to serving.

Pairing:

Pairs well with roasted or grilled meats, pasta, fried fish and shellfish, and spicy dishes.
