A traditional style red wine that is True to the Grape Good! and possibly one of the best foods wines ever created. An "old world" Tuscan gem that is fresh, fruit forward, and flavorful.

In the recent past varieties were often blended, but today the emphasis is strongly on traditional style Sangiovese, which deserves to be ranked with Italy's and the world's noblest wines. From good vintages, pure Sangiovese wines are rich in body and intricate in flavor. In most of Tuscany, where the famed Sangiovese grape found its roots, in Chianti; many estates emphasize the name of a special vineyard or wine varietal as a mark of distinction. What Tuscany, Chianti, and its winemakers, as well as those throughout Italy have in common with all of the traditional red wines of Tuscany is its major grape variety; Sangiovese. This wine comes from the heart of Chianti and shares many of the same characteristics found in a fine Tuscan Chianti. From the finest, hand selected Sangiovese grapes; this wine is made of 100% Sangiovese and considered a classic, easy drinking favorite of Italy. Wines from this appellation, especially a traditional style, pure varietal as this is, are usually suited to moderate aging, but are at their best when drunk young.

Winemaker Notes:

At sight, this wine is a deep ruby red color. On the nose the wine is wide and persistent with fruit forward notes and hints of fertile Tuscan earth and lush forest scents. On the palate the wine is velvety soft and fresh with gentle tannins that are in perfect balance with the acidity of the wine. The finish is long, smooth, and pleasant, with a harmonious full bodied flavor.

Pairing:

Pairs well with first courses, roasted or grilled meats, pasta, and assorted appetizers.
