Wine Notes:

Made of the Noble Sangiovese grape, and classified as one of the most prestigious DOCG red wines in Italy, which dates back to the Etruscan period in history.

Montepulciano stands on a highest point at the southern extremity of the Chiana Valley in the province of Siena. An ancient legend has it that Montepulciano was founded at the orders of the Etruscan king Porsenna, and from its earliest origins, Montepulciano was linked with wine from the numerous testimonials of kings to the high reputation the noble wine of Montepulciano enjoyed throughout history. This amazing wine is considered and classified as one of the most prestigious of all DOCG wines in Italy and is an excellent example of the old world, traditional style quality from Tuscany. Made with Prugnolo Gentile by DOCG specification, the noble Sangiovese grape is only grown in limited production within Montepulciano, and in fact is also known as one of the finest wine-making grapes for its wonderful character, complexity, and consistency.

Winemaker Notes:

The wine is conspicuous for its ruby redness with orange reflexes and for an embracing bouquet with traces of plum, raspberry, violets, and a hint of chocolate. The flavor is slightly dry and tannic, yet full bodied with a wide and delicious finish, and is at its best after five to ten years of aging.

Decanting Highly Recommended.

Pairing:

Pairs well with roasted or grilled meats, and pasta.
