Wine Notes:
This wine is an old world classic recently revived as one of the contemporary and renowned Gems of Friuli Venezia Giulia region and unlike any other from northern Italy.
The vintners of the Friuli Aquileia region have built a growing reputation in Italy and abroad for red wines made by relatively small wineries and estates. Many producers have taken the old world wine making standards of the region, that were assumed lost forever, and have revived the classic standards to produce wines that are gaining international acclaim and recognition for their heightened quality and consistency. The Alma is one of the red wine blends that have been re–introduced after many years using modern applications to create wines of intriguing value and potential.
Winemaker Notes:
Deep, lively ruby red with garnet reflections. Complex, impressive, ethereal nose, with scents of forest, fruits, an incisive and definite character which is well balanced and accentuated thanks to the characteristics acquired from time spent in the barriques. Marked, full body, excellent structure, long and attractive "international" taste and finish.
This wine can be enjoyed young, but becomes more refined for 8–10years.
At its best when opened 30 to 45 minutes or longer prior to serving.
Special Note: Limited Annual Production.
Pairing:
Pairs well with roasted meats, barbeque, pasta, fried fish, shellfish, and risotto.
