Wine Notes:

Wine has been produced in Italy since the Iron Age, and in the Bible is often referred to. Psalm 103 states: "Vinum laetifcat cor hominis", "wine brings happiness to people's hearts."

TRefosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is a red Italian wine grape grown predominately in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of northeast Italy. The grape is a sub–variety of the Refosco grape and derives it name from its red stems. The grape has a long history and was praised by Pliny the Elder in the first century for the quality of wine it produces. Today it is found in the DOC of Friuli Aquileia.

Winemaker Notes:

A perfect ruby red color with garnet reflections. Complex, impressive, ethereal nose, spiced with aromas of tobacco and coffee, accentuated by characteristics from time spent in the barriques. Well rounded and excellent structure, perfectly balanced tannins with a long, full and attractive finish.

This wine can be enjoyed young, but becomes more refined for 8–10years.
At its best when opened 30 to 45 minutes or longer prior to serving.

Pairing:

Pairs well with roasted meats, barbeque, pasta, fried fish, shellfish, and risotto.
