Wine Notes:

One of the most prestigious DOCG and sought-after red wines in Italy today!

The World renowned Wine of Tuscany, from the heart of the famous wine producing region of Montalcino, comes this exquisite red, considered the Gem of Tuscany and all Italian red wines today. In Italy, which has been producing wines for over 3,500 years, a Brunello is considered a modern invention. In fact, it is not a wine made in homage to local traditions but the result of the studies of a single winemaker, Ferruccio Biondi–Santi. Around 1870, he began to set out in his vineyards a clone of the Sangiovese variety known as Brunello, or Grosso, to distinguish it from the breed that originated in Chianti and that produced smaller berries. He did not stop there and broke tradition as is known today, by refining the wine for a period of at least four years in oak casks followed by a period in bottle; where in time it developed outstanding qualities. Brunello began to be highly regarded as a prestigious and royal wine around 1880.

Winemaker Notes:

An incredible wine, at sight, it is a deep ruby red color with garnet hues and a wide floral and persistent bouquet. The nose is full with wonderful aromas of violets, vanilla, and dried fruit. A real beauty, the palate has a generous full body with rich and creamy fruit, leading to a flourish of flavors including black cherry, savory vanilla, earthy notes, and a complex, fulfilling finish. This wine becomes more refined for 5-10 years.

Note: Limited Annual Production

Decanting Highly Recommended

Pairing:

Pairs well with roasted or grilled meats, and wild game.
